Welcome to Creative Writing. I'm honored to be asked to start this class, and I hope I'm able to provide you with the kind of inspiration you are looking for. If you are in this class, you probably enjoy writing, and have a passion for storytelling. As a group, I intend to provide the best platform possible to create an authentic "writer's room" environment.
To facilitate this, I think it's best to utilize a blog network. This will save time, paper, and maximize efficiency. Blogspot is the best option for this, and this blog will act as a hub for our virtual writer's room. Here, you will find information regarding assignments, interesting links, and you'll be able to find each others blogs. This network will increase communication and serves as a showcase for your work. To improve as writers we all require critical feedback, and you are encouraged to comment respectfully.Blogspot provides many options and la ot of freedom in terms of design. Here are some things I'd like you to consider:
1. Blog Title - something clever, creative and memorable. Not just "Tom's Blog."
2. Blog URL - something short and sweet and simple that you could explain to someone at a party where there's no paper or pen but a lot of loud music . Perhaps "ilovecheese.blogspot.com" and not "qwertyzxcv9081.blogspot.com"
3. Less is more. Don't go too crazy with Gadgets. View counters, polls, slide shows etc. are nice, but anything with advertisements, such as games etc., should be avoided.
4. Your display name. You can choose anything you want, and it doesn't have to be your real name.
5. Creativity. Your blog is a temple - so have fun building it with your own personal creative touch. Try to make your blog unique to your individual personality.
